From Coyhaique to the south we can appreciate the Pollux River Falls (a waterfall that freezes in winter due to low temperatures) and the Foitzick Lagoon, among other natural attractions. We will take a detour to the Carretera Austral Sur that will lead us to the commune of Río Ibáñez, where the most captivating natural presence of the landscape is the imposing Cerro Castillo and its National Reserve. From this area until the end of the journey, it is necessary to keep your cameras ready to photograph animals that can be seen from the road like a grey fox or a huemul. Our final destination is Puerto Río Tranquilo, a town from where the excursion to Marble Caves begins, making a navigation that lasts 1 hour and a half by boat on Lake General Carrera. The majesty of its shapes and the imposing landscape of contrasting colors make this excursion a favorite in the region. During navigation, the guide will explain the geological bases of the rock and marble formations.
